After reading several blogs and several materials on blogging, monetizing your site, internet marketing etc., I’ve come to the conclusion that almost all bloggers agree on certain basic principles that each successful blogger has consciously or unconsciously followed throughout the years. Among the principles observed are as follows.

A blog is considered as a free flowing text piece. It gives the writer freedom to express his/her thoughts and present it in a way as they interpret it. Today, we have different kinds of blogs – personal, professional blogs, news blogs, story blogs and miscellaneous blogs. Each one has its own unique flavor and caters to a particular audience. Personal Blogs provide an insight to one’s thoughts and lifestyles. Professional blogs are written by trained or experienced writers to cover a story. News and story blogs are relatively new media, explored by journalists to reach the news seeking audience. And miscellaneous blogs are a hybrid of the above mentioned categories.
